Edmund Jasinski, Stockport Town Justice for 21 years |

STOCKPORT--Edmund "Ed" J. Jasinski, 90, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at his residence.
Born August 18, 1919 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Charles and Pauline (Sadowski) Jasinski.
Mr. Jasinski was a machinist at the V & O Press in Greenport until retiring.
He served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and four battle stars.
He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph's in Stottville, the Stottville Fire Co., the Hudson Elks Club, the American Legion Post 184, and the VFW 3220.
Mr. Jasinski was the Stockport Town Justice for 21 years, a councilman for 6 years and part-time highway superintendent for two years.
He was an avid bowler, golfer and Boston Red Sox fan.
Mr. Jasinski was the beloved brother of Charlotte Marsh of Stottville; devoted uncle of John and Joanne Marsh of Greenport and David Graziano of Claverack; loving step-father of Timothy McNamara and his wife, Christina, and their son, Sean, all of N.C.; and special great-uncle of Robert Marsh of Greenport and Amy DaCosta of Stottville.
His wives, Margaret (Ban) Jasinski and Patricia (Ripley) McNamara Jasinski died previously.
Visiting hours are 4:30 to 6:30 Tuesday, March 9, at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Joseph's in Stottville.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Stottville Fire Company or to the Church of St. Joseph's, Stottville.

E.GREENBUSH--Frank L. "Duke" Case Jr., 82 of Copake, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Hawthorne Ridge.
He was born on March 24, 1927 in White Plains, the son of Frank L. and Mabel (Watkins) Case Sr.
Mr. Case was a 50-year resident of Copake previously residing in White Plains, where he was employed as a paid firefighter. Upon moving locally he was the owner of Case Plumbing & Heating until his retirement.
He was a United States Navy veteran serving his country from 1944 to 1946 and was a longtime member of the Closson-Raught American Legion Post #1160 in Copake Falls.
Active in his community, Mr. Case was a former Boy Scout leader, a member of the Copake United Methodist Church and took great personal satisfaction in maintaining the flower beds at the village circle where the Copake Memorial Clock is located. He enjoyed making his maple syrup, was an avid square dancer and formed the "Titan Teen" Dance Club.
His wife, Regina H. (Johnson) Case, died in 1983. Four sisters also died previously.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Katherine and Tait Wheeler of Hillsdale and Carol and Robert Rhoton of Amarillo, Tex. and a son and daughter in law, Paul and Chillys Case of Glade Spring, Va. He also leaves four grandchildren, Gregory Wheeler, Lynn Wheeler, Douglas Wheeler and Jonathan Coons and his wife, Audrey, along with a great grandson, Keir Coons. Additionally he leaves his companion, Alice Belt, of Copake and her children, Linda Burnier, Leslie Parsenios and Brian Belt along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited and may call Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake.
Funeral services will be offered on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Copake United Methodist Church, Church Street, Copake.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Copake Cemetery.

HUDSON—Judith A. Secovnie, 70, of Stuyvesant Falls, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Syracuse on October 13, 1939, she was the eldest daughter of the late Lorraine E. Craver Harbeck and George Burgess.
Her loving husband, James P. Secovnie, died previously.
She was most recently a realtor with the Kinderhook Group and was past president of VERA. She enjoyed music, fishing and her animals.
Surviving are her children, Lisa L Benfield, Daryl E. Wonderly, Jr., H. Thomas Weaver III (Caryn); her sisters, Jill Gallagher (Michael), Jeanne Salerno (Joseph) and Lois Dorschel (Martin); three grand-children, Christopher Thomas Benfield, Jenna Weaver and Joseph Weaver; and many nieces and nephews.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie, with burial at St. Paul's Episcopal Church columbarium later this spring.

HUDSON--Alice L. Blish, 73, of Stockport died Friday, March 5, at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Blish was born November 22, 1936 in Lewis, the daughter of the late: T. Aubrey and Clara (Edmonds) Gough.
Mrs. Blish, a loving mother and grandmother, enjoyed bingo, gardening, singing, fishing and country music.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas (Elizabeth) Blish of Averill Park, Leonard (Pamela) Blish of Chatham Center, Laurence (Sue) Blish of North Chatham; four daughters, Lisa (Robert) Gile of Chatham Center, Laura (George) Gile of Elizaville, Sharon (Lawrence) of Underhill, Vt., Loretta (William) Blish of Chatham; two brothers, David Gough of Hudson and Harold Gough of Hillsdale; two sisters, Sylvia Ramm of Hudson and Margaret Morehouse of North Chatham; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Lawrence Blish Sr.; a brother, James Gough Sr.; sister Thelma Gough and her long-time companion, Norman Clark, died previously.
The family will receive family and friends at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

MELLENVILLE--Jean Carl, 76, died peacefully at home on March 4, 2010.
Born December 5, 1933 in Ghent, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Victor Cantele.
Mrs. Carl was a graduate of Philmont High School and the Mildred Ely School of Business in Albany. She worked for several lawyers in the area before joining the postal service, retiring as Postmaster in Philmont.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Deborah and Brian Neal of Catskill and her son and his wife, David and Leslie Carl of Mellenville; her four grandchildren, Kelly Carl of Los Angeles Calif., Ryan Carl of Mellenville, Caitlin Neal of Coxsackie, and Scott Neal of Catskill; her great grandchild, Jackson Carl, and her brother, Marco Cantele of Southern Pines, N C.
Her husband of 56 years, Harry K. Carl, and her brother Benjamin Cantele, died previously.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church in Chatham on Tuesday, March 9 at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be private.
