HUDSON--City police seized marijuana, guns and cash when the raided a Columbia Street apartment, April 26 at 9:15 p.m.

Based on alleged marijuana sales from the Schuyler Court Apartment, Police Chief Ellis C. Richardson said in a press release that members of the Hudson Police Special Operations Unit, with the assistance of detectives and patrol officers, executed the search warrant and arrested Nicholas S. Fox, 26, who lives in the apartment.

ALBANY--William H. Muller, Jr.'s appeal of his convictions on two counts of first degree murder was rejected by the State Supreme Court, Appellate Division Third Judicial Department, April 22.

Mr. Muller murdered his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis Lynch, 56, and Carolyn Lynch, 54, in their home on Upper Cady Road in Chatham the night of June 27, 2006. He entered the house and shot both Mr. and Mrs. Lynch with a 12-gauge shotgun. He was convicted by a jury after six hours of deliberation April 17, 2007.

CRARYVILLE--Cell phone use is being blamed for a crash on Route 23 in which a minivan ran into the rear end of a stopped school bus, April 20 at 7:09 a.m.

A 2010 Freightliner school bus owned by the Taconic Hills Central School District was stopped in the westbound lane with its red lights flashing while children were waiting to cross from the south side of the highway.

Greene County woman faces 122 counts of fraud PDF Print E-mail

HUDSON--Columbia County Sheriff's deputies charged a Greene County woman with a slew of crimes in connection with welfare fraud.

Jessica Marie Roman, 26, of Catskill was charged with one count of third degree welfare fraud, two counts of third degree grand larceny, class D felonies; 29 counts of first degree falsifying business records; 29 counts of filing a false written statement; 29 counts of criminal impersonation, class A misdemeanors; 29 counts of false statements or representations of the state Labor Law, unclassified misdemeanors; one count of petit larceny and fifth degree welfare fraud, both class A misdemeanors, April 14 at 9:26 a.m.

HILLSDALE--The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA, Deputy Cindy Madison and Sheriff's Office Sergeant Michael Merante charged the owners of Sunny Mead Farm with animal cruelty, April 19 at 9:19 p.m.

Both agencies were called to the farm April 12 when passers-by reported seeing dead cows there.
